Who doesn’t like to shop?!

Now what better way to celebrate a birthday than to give someone who loves shopping, a cake made into a shopping bag..

This lady loves Zara so we made her a Zara bag cake. Coconut and lime sponge inside, sandwiched together with passion fruit curd and covered in vanilla buttercream.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

Friday 30th September 2016 was Coffee Morning day for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Cakes with Benefits made come cupcakes and one big lemon sponge cake for our local coffee shop.  Macmillan do such a fantastic job supporting people affected by cancer, it was great to so many people raising money by eating and selling cake!

In a world of pure imagination…

My favourite time of year is when I get to make my best friend’s daughter’s birthday cake. This year she’s turning seven and she wanted a Willy Wonka cake.  So, that’s what she got…

The cake is rainbow sponge inside covered in buttercream, fondant and lots of different colourful sweeties.

I loved designing this cake. Such a fun theme! With the very sad passing of Gene Wilder, this cake is a tribute to him. The one and only, original Willy Wonka.

Trio, Triiiiiiio!

Do you want a Trio and do you want one now?

Trio bars are back! What better way to celebrate than to create a Trio bar cake?

To make sure it not only looked like a Trio but tasted like one, I started with a biscuit base then used two layers of chocolate sponge and one layer of vanilla sponge sandwiched together with toffee butter cream. I covered the whole lot in chocolate buttercream and then fondant.

As founding member of Retro Biscuit Club, there’s only one person deserving of a Trio bar cake… Happy Birthday Nick!

Pokémon GO!

Has someone just bumped into you because they’re too busy looking at their phones, searching for the next Pokémon! It’s the latest craze and lots of people are obsessed with it!

So… here’s a Pokémon cake for all those lovers out there! The cake has a biscuit base, chocolate cake swirled with cheesecakey mix and some sour cherries.  It’s topped with cream cheese frosting and fondant detail. Yum scrumdiddlyumptious!

Star Wars Cake for Wyatt (aged 7)

My little cousin Wyatt LOVES Star Wars so what better theme to have for his cake than a bit of  each of his fave characters.  Inside is chocolate madeira sponge and chocolate buttercream.

The bottom cake was shaped into a Storm Trooper using fondant and the top was a dome shaped into R2D2.  A bit of shimmer spray to make him silver and shapes made out of fondant and there we have a Star Wars cake!
